The things I do for my band....
So played a show tonight out at The Dungeon.

I've been nursing my throat back to health for the past couple days and I thought it would get better by today and it didn't. Not playing was out of the question since we were opening for the headliner band. So I gave it my all and everyone who came said I sounded great. Though right now I am paying for it. My throat feels like someone ripped it out, laid it down on a table, and started taking slices of it off with a meat carver...Then put it all back together and shoved it back in my neck. I picked up honey and some tea and have been drinking that. I also drank some lemon and club soda which Stephen suggested. (And it did pretty well!)
What sucks is I wanted to record some of our tracks ASAP for our Screamfest demo package but now I can't till my throat heals.

I always make sure to take super extra care of my throat by not smoking, learning how to use it properly to sing, making sure to do warm ups every time before I sing, drink plenty of water before a show and not to drink beer with the rest of the band.....And then a sickness comes by and just fucks all that up for me!

Grrr*coughcoughcoughcough*..........

Take a flashlight and check your throat in a mirror. If there's a red starburst pattern, it could be strep. White spots on the tonsils are also an indicator, but can also signify a throat infection. Both need antibiotics ASAP. They can develop into something more serious (ie rheumatic fever, scarlet fever, and kidney disease).

So you should go get a throat culture done...

Feel better, though, and continue the tea and honey! That's the best thing (especially for singing-trust me, I know)!
